You know the crazy collywobbles one experiences when you are single and you find that amazing ‘Mr. Perfect’ who loves you like s%$*, showers you with expensive gifts, accompanies you on your day-long shopping sprees, takes you out for vacation at exotic locations, enjoys romantic bubble baths (with candles & other works thrown in for a good measure) and even cooks delicious food for you on your dates - It's unbelievable right - I felt the same mushy rush when I saw these stunning pair of designer Gucci frames staring at me from a fabulous display in Tesco.

They literally forced the shopaholic in me to take over my ‘frugal self’. Suddenly I suffered from compulsive selective memory loss and forgot all about my self-imposed month-long ‘shopping ban’. I was about to give an arm and leg for a pair of designer acetates because I thought they would give me a flattering look. I would look smokin’ hot like someone straight out of Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model. I am not a designer sunglasses & eyeglasses - obsessed fan, it's just that I am the kind of woman who will prefer to put quality over quantity any day. It’s not a ‘Keeping up with the Joneses’ kind of peer pressure to be popular either, I just like my eyewear & my relationships to be strong, durable & long lasting! ;-)

Before I could flash my credit card to make the payment, I had a divine epiphany of sorts. Suddenly I remembered an article I had read a few days back, it claimed that the secret to clinching the best branded eyeglasses in the UK is to compare their prices on online websites. Having had bought my Raybans, Oakleys and Warby Parkers at brick and mortar high street stores at a huge markup, I wanted to experiment this time by buying online. Once I remember, I expended my entire month’s salary on prescription sunglasses from Mercedes Benz. :-( It was a complete rip off and guess what? I lost them on a ski trip to Switzerland. The trip turned out to be even more expensive than I thought.) :-(

So with great difficulty I managed to pacify my impulsive self, to binge on a Topshop lipstick instead (which was a cheaper option & it did make my day!). As soon I reached home, I searched for the exact same Gucci glasses online, lo & behold, I couldn’t believe my eyes, the same tortoiseshell frame was at less than 40% of its cost on Perfect Glasses. When compared with other websites I did find that Perfect Glasses offered designer glasses at lowest prices in the UK.

Perfect Glasses boasts of a slew of high-end luxury brands like, Carrera, Dior, Gant, Fendi, Marc Jacob, Guess, Puma, Nike, Lacoste, S. T. Dupont, sans the sticker shock. And as I could see they did meet their promise of offering designer glasses at great prices . This surely got me tempting and I began exploring these stunning brands straight off the international runways. I was completely awestruck with the wide range of colours, shapes, materials and styles they offered. Infact, I was thanking my stars for stumbling upon Perfect Glasses - loved their gorgeous full-rimmed eyeglasses, semi-rimmed eyeglasses and rimless eyeglasses to bits. They had the most trendiest eyewear styles online in the UK. Perfect Glasses has the best virtual mirror in the UK, which allowed me to try so many frames and sunglasses on my face. I could now actually see how the eyewear looked on me. I was so engrossed browsing through infinite pairs in wayfarer, aviators, oval, round & rectangular shapes, that I completely forgot to compile a presentation for my work. How I skipped the firing from my ‘difficult boss’ is a story in itself. I will share it with you, some other time. ;-)

I got my Gucci frame at an excellent price, at least 40% lower than the High Street. It was a great bargain. Also, Perfect Glasses was offering Flat 50% off the entire website. So I gifted myself trend-on prescription sunglasses from Marc Jacobs & Dior. Considering the total damage I bore for the frames and prescription lenses, I got all my 3 eyeglasses & sunglasses for a song. I was proud of myself for not binge buying at Tesco & shopping eyeglasses online. Because of this, I ended up with 3 designer pairs for the price of 2.

My work spouse Tom thought that shopping eyewear online would have costed me a pretty penny. But little did he know that I had clinched the best deals on eyeglasses in the UK. Not only did I avoid splurging on expensive high-street eyewear, I got the best prescription glasses online.I learnt a very valuable lesson with this experience. Whether it is an investment in your relationship or designer Rx glasses, don’t commit to making a hasty decision before checking other options. Who knows your search may lead you to your Perfect Glasses & Perfect Matches! ;-)
